The minimum age to attend a First Aid/CPR course unaccompanied is 14 years. AFAC accepts 10–13-year old’s as long as they are accompanied by an adult. However, all of our courses require physical tasks that must be completed to obtain a statement of attainment, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin on the floor, recovery position and bandaging to name a few of a long list of requirements.
If the child cannot complete the performance evidence assessment tasks, we can issue a certificate of participation. Please call our office on 9850 6665 to discuss or email info@accreditedfirstaidcourses.com.au prior to making a booking.
CPR & First Aid courses cannot be conducted purely online as all courses requires participants to demonstrate practical skills such as CPR on an adult, child and infant manikins, perform DRSABCD, show the correct use of a defibrillator, bandaging, managing fractures etc.
Due to the above requirements, it is highly unlikely that any online course is an accredited course.
AFAC provides online, self-pace pre-course learning, this allows the duration of the face-to-face training to be completed into a shorter timeframe.
