If you have completed HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting in the past, please check with your employer/organisation whether you need to complete the annual update.
This is the annual update for 22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis.
Learner Portal credentials will be emailed to the participant upon booking to enable the participant to complete the online theory part of the course.
Practical Assessments will be conducted throughout the course.
22578VIC Anaphylaxis is a 3-year accredited course that requires an annual update. The annual update is the VU23090 EpiPen Update.
It is the same principle as CPR being the annual update for first aid.
Any participant that has undertaken 22578VIC Anaphylaxis and it is highly recommended HLTAID012 participants also complete the VU23090 EpiPen Annual Update.
These are usually childcare workers, school teachers, bus drivers and many more industries.
Yes, VU23090 EpiPen Update is included in the 22578VIC Anaphylaxis course.
AFAC provides a blended VU23090 EpiPen Update course with online, self-pace pre-course learning and face to face training.
The online, self-pace pre-course learning allows the duration of the face-to-face training to be completed in a shorter timeframe.
VU23090 courses cannot be conducted purely online as participants are required to administer adrenaline using an adrenaline injector.
Due to the above requirements, it is highly unlikely that any VU23090 online course is an accredited course.
VU23090 should be renewed every 12 months.
No, VU23090 EpiPen Update is not included in the CPR course. You will have to book this in separately.
We recommend you allow yourself 45-90 minutes to complete the online, self-paced pre-course assessments, however the duration can vary depending on your prior knowledge.
Yes, all of our courses are national accredited and are recognised Australia wide!
